FORTIFY YOUR OASIS: Group Writing Project: Job-Hunt Hurdles

FORTIFY YOUR OASIS: Group Writing Project: Job-Hunt Hurdles: "Newer"

Most job hunters don't realize that their thoughts, feelings and beliefs actually shape the experience they'll have. If you're like most people, you believe job hunting is hard, fraught with challenges, obstacles and pitfalls that must somehow be overcome, dealt with or accepted.

And because you believe this is what you have to deal with, you're right. But it doesn't have to be that way.

I know, because I've gotten every job I ever wanted easily and effortlessly for 35 years, and I never answered a want ad, never went through Human Resources or used a recruiter, never mass mailed or emailed my resume, and never “networked.”

I just followed my instinct, and every single time, I was just in the right place at the right time with exactly what was needed. What I did, anyone can do. When you change your thinking, everything changes -- what you do, what you say, how you act, and most importantly, you change the way other people respond to you.

The secret to getting hired has nothing to do with your resume, cover letter or answering idiotic interview questions. The secret is to remember that the reason you'll be hired is because the person hiring you believes you can help him or her solve their problem or take advantage of an opportunity.

It boils down to this: when you help someone else get what they want, they will help you get what you want.

I'd be happy to send anyone who requests it an e-book copy of my book, "Secrets of the Hidden Job Market: Change Your Thinking to Get the Job of Your Dreams." Just email me. Thanks!
